Working is for the birds
I went back to work on April 11th. For those of you who keep track, you'd know that I haven't posted a single thing since I went back to work. Why you ask? BECAUSE I AM SO FREAKING BUSY THAT I CAN'T SEE STRAIGHT.
Literally.
No, really.
Here is my schedule:
5:00 Susannah wakes up wants to be fed
5:45 I have to start getting ready
6:15 Steve gets Scarlett up
6:20 Pump
6:30 I am making breakfast, bottles, lunch, packing up the pump, packing the diaper bag, putting the girls into the car (and I've found I have to put Scarlett in first or else she takes off like a rocket down the driveway and around the corner of the cul-de-sac until I catch her), and my coffee and breakfast.
7:00 I leave the house
7:10 arrive at daycare and drop the girls off
7:20 leave for work
7:45-4:00 Work like a frickin' dog
4:30 Get home and pump
4:45 Start dinner
5:15 Eat dinner and feed SusaMae at the same time
5:45 Play outside
6:45 Scarlett melts down
7:15 bath time for both girls
7:45-9:45 Feed on demand
9:45 Pack a lunch, start the dishes, pick up the house, feel like I've been run over by a Mack truck
10:30 fall into bed
2:00 Up to feed the baby
By the end of the day, I'm wondering where the FUN in having kids is. We are working like dogs just to keep our heads above water and keep everyone clean and fed.
I just want to have a day to relax - a WHOLE DAY - and by relaxing, I mean napping, eating, and showering when I want to. But, alas, it is too much to ask.
I love my kids, I really, really, really do - I wouldn't trade them for the world. I'm just exhausted.
Last night we watched "Walk Hard" and Mom was over - I was the hostess with the mostess and fell asleep on the couch holding Susannah and when I woke up, Susannah wasn't in my arms and my mom was gone. I hope she had a good time. HA!
On an up note, we have gotten the paci away from Scarlett during the day! She knows that it's only for night-night time now. SCORE.
